gather round
We've had a lot going on at Friday recently as part of our mission to be a space for making and exhibiting creative work for the neighborhood and arts community.
Art Show Supporting South River Arts Studio Artists (December 12-14)
Our community came together to support artists who were displaced by the devastating fire at the South River Arts Studio. Over three days, we showcased the work of these talented creators, giving them a platform to continue sharing their art despite this setback. It was beautiful to see our community rally around fellow artists in need. Please go here to read more about the fire and see how you can support the artists.
Open Mic Fundraiser & Drive (December 14)
Atlanta Community OSE hosted an open mic that doubled as a fundraiser, clothing drive, and food drive. Thank you to everyone who performed, attended, and contributed!
Positive Nihilism Rock Show (January 17)
Fans gathered round for the Positive Nihilism rock show to see performers Beans and Rice, TCB, Ironbound, and Earthkiller all bringing their A-game. Ria's Bluebird had some delicious bbq to share too.
In times that can feel overwhelming, we fight hopelessness by doing what we do best: celebrating art, gathering with neighbors, and using our voices. These events are more than just shows and fundraisers – they're acts of joyful resistance. When we come together to support displaced artists, to share resources with those in need, to thrash around to punk rock with our friends, we're creating something that can't be taken away from us.
We find our resistance through joy, through community, through keeping the space alive and welcoming for everyone who needs it.
Thanks to everyone who came out, performed, volunteered, and made these events possible. You're the reason this works.
