our second annual iron pour

Year 2 is in the books, and it exceeded our expectations. The weather was lovely. The Brickstore Pub and Good Word Brewing provided refreshments. Artist Josh Jamison took over the gallery space and filled it with his incredibly rendered illustrations and sculptures. We partnered with Georgia State University sculpture students again and melted 200 lbs of iron for 52 scratch blocks.

An iron pour is a unique visual art performance where the process is as much a part of the experience as the product. There’s a choreography to the flow of movements as the iron workers communicate and work together in coordination to melt and pour the hot iron safely and productively. It’s an altogether entertaining and amazing process to observe. We were happy you were there to be a part of it.
